The Vibrant Gujarat Summit is a biennial event that aims to position Gujarat as an attractive investment hub and foster partnerships across various sectors. The 10th edition of the summit was held from 10-12 January 2024 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and was inaugurated by the Honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The summit has grown into a global event, attracting participants from various countries and serving as a platform for discussions on economic development, trade, and investment opportunities.
Organised by the Government of Gujarat, it is supported by various industry and trade associations, both at national and international levels. This edition of Vibrant Gujarat celebrated the '20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.' With 34 partner countries and 16 partner organisations, this year's summit witnessed extensive global participation.
Grant Thornton Bharat played a crucial role as the Knowledge Partner in organising various events during the Summit. The event witnessed widespread global participation from country heads to CEOs of international firms. Our journey started with meticulously creating 58 project profiles across diverse thrust sectors, showcasing Gujarat's potential as an investment hub. These profiles were invaluable references for potential investors, highlighting Gujarat's business opportunities and policies.
- Start-up Conclave 2023: As a Knowledge Partner for Start-up Conclave 2023, we facilitated discussions among unicorns, venture funds, and global accelerators, creating collaboration and expansion opportunities for start-ups.
- Gems of Gujarat 2023: This prestigious award ceremony and conference showcase the state's notable accomplishments in entrepreneurship, innovation, social impact, and various sectors. The event comprised a diverse and engaging program, commencing with a panel discussion featuring industry leaders and experts participating in meaningful dialogue on pertinent topics. As the Knowledge Partner for this initiative, our expertise came in handy for content creation, speaker identification, and knowledge dissemination, elevating the event's quality and reach.
- Knowledge Partner for 'Lighthouse Technology Seminar': We played a central role in organising a 'Lighthouse Technology’ seminar. The event provided a platform for knowledge exchange and networking, paving the way for potential real estate construction project collaborations. Collaborating with the Industrial Commissionerate, we conducted an impact analysis of Vibrant Gujarat 2024, providing a structured representation of investment data.
- Knowledge Partner for Gujarat Power Corporation Limited (GPCL): Strategising the trade show for Gujarat Power Corporation Limited, we explored opportunities to position Gujarat as the ‘Green Hydrogen Destination of India’. We actively supported the administration in organising the Global Trade Show, featuring hydrogen vehicles like Toyota's 'Mirai' at the Sustainability Pavilion.
- GATI Shakti & Skills for Industry 4.0: We helped choose speakers, curated themes, and ran the programme for the technical event of ‘GATI Shakti & Skills for Industry 4.0’.
- Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024: Recognised as one of the world's largest trade exhibitions, the Global Trade Show unfolded at a sprawling 2,00,000 square meter venue. We coordinated day-to-day operations, assisting in event organisation and impactful presentations, including organising the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet and Vendor Development Programme. Inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the summit showcased TECHADE/Disruptive Technologies and Champion Service Sectors, offering extensive networking opportunities.
- Business to Government (B2G) meetings and Business to Business meetings (B2B): Covering Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, 7 North Eastern states, and Central Government ministries, the team coordinated 1300 B2B and B2G meetings.
A pivotal accomplishment was facilitating the signing of an MoU between the Technical Education department and IBM. This agreement has opened doors for potential collaborations and opportunities in Gujarat and other states.
To document Vibrant Gujarat’s impact over the last twenty years, we curated content for an e-coffee table book. Through extensive research, we gathered data on critical initiatives, success stories, and the economic development catalysed by the platform. Our report titled ‘Unlocking Opportunities: India-UAE Start-up Ecosystem Convergence’ was launched during the UAE India Business Summit - Country Seminar at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.
